All-on-X Implant Supported Denture

Oregon Periodontics full arch solution in Portland, OR for total smile restoration with natural aesthetics and function.

BRING BACK YOUR SMILE: BEAUTY & FUNCTION

Tooth loss can be a part of aging and is often accompanied by feelings of self-consciousness, a hesitance to smile, and the fear of eating in public. Full arch implants restore your smile, in a way that many patients never thought possible. The aesthetic and very lifelike result leaves patients with more confidence to live the life they want with the people that matter most.

STABILITY THAT RIVALS NATURE

Once tooth-loss begins further damage can result to the bone as the tooth roots that once stimulated the jaw are lost or decaying. Replacing a full arch of teeth with several expertly placed implants and a lifelike implant-supported denture not only provides outstanding function for the patient but also prevents further bone loss. The implants are secured to the bone in such a way that the stimulation is very similar and consistent with a normal tooth root system, helping to keep the bone firm and resilient.

Keeping & Restoring the Gumline

As a periodontal microsurgeon who specializes in soft tissue, Dr. Robert S. Henshaw is the perfect fit for skillfully placing FP-1 type full-arch dental implants. Through preserving the natural anatomy of the patient's gums and jaw bone, a more natural result is achieved in both the smile shape and beauty and also for the patient's speech.

Dr. Henshaw is one of a very small number of dentists qualified to do the FP-1 type procedure, preserving a beautiful and healthful gum-line for a natural and resilient smile. In cases where the patient is not a candidate due to significant bone loss then Dr. Robert S. Henshaw provides patients with the alternative prosthesis option with artificial gums.

Fixed Prosthesis - Type 1

This “gumless” FP-1 prosthesis sits right on the gumline, preserving the anatomy of the patient; the natural bone and soft tissue. The FP-1 full-arch implant has been described as the gold standard for appearance, ease of cleaning, and natural feel and function. Bone and gum grafting may be necessary as the FP1 requires sufficient healthy bone and gums for placement. Not all patients are candidates for this procedure.

Fixed Prosthesis - Type 3

In preparation for the FP-3 arch, several millimeters of gum tissue and jaw bone must be removed and cannot be recovered later. Do to the sacrifice of the natural anatomy, this option will cause the patient to require an FP-3 type implant permanently. This implant type includes a wide artificial pink gumline and resembles a more traditional denture. The FP3 method seeks to “cover up” rather than repair the gums and alveolar ridge.
